After last week’s plateau, I was worried about my Dvorak progress, but hope has apparently been restored. The last three days have been quite productive, each resulting in new records and good averages. Today I broke the 60 wpm mark with a high score of 63 and an average of 58.76. It was a particularly nice passage out of Dracula that got the job done; hopefully WPMC picks some more good ones for me soon.
Today’s Stats:
Average WPM: 58.76
Max WPM: 63.0
Error Rate: 5.36%
P.S. In case anyone is actually using WPMC, there are an embarrasingly large amount of bugs, particularly with the history panel calculations. The WPM that comes up on the test results is correct, and can be verified by opening your specific data file. It is simple XML, so you can just find the correct day and test, then take the characters typed / 5 for words, then divide that by minutes to get your WPM. Be careful not to change the structure of the XML however, since doing so will crash WPMC. If there is enough interest, I will create WPMC version 2.0 with bug fixes and the ability to go read the rest of an article whose content you typed in a test. Please email any other bugs or suggestions, or leave comments about them.
