Day 1 Nap Summary

Polyphasic Nap Log – Uberman Day 1

There isn’t going to be much to report today – it is just like a normal day with some naps in it. Still, I’m going to keep track of how the naps went and any other stray thoughts to try to keep this online record as compelet as possible. Expect better posts in the coming days when I break into new sleep deprivation territory.

Nap 1: 6:00 AM

I woke up after a restless night at about 6 am, so I set my 30 min alarm and had a ‘nap’. Probably not a nap really since I was just asleep, but I figured it couldn’t hurt to practice at the right time.

Nap 2: 10:00 AM

Closed the blinds, turned on the fan, and tried to catch some Zs. I laid there for a long time without sleeping, but the alarm woke me up. I don’t know how much actual sleep I got, but I’m just glad I fell asleep at all. I didn’t expect to sleep in my naps today since I’m not really a napper.

Nap 3: 2:00 PM

Came in and dozed off. I didn’t realize I was sleeping until I noticed the alarm going. I put some fading in classical music as the alarm – I think I need to put a backup loud annoying beep or something. I’m not even really tired yet and I’m already worried about missing it.

Nap 4: 6:00 PM

Came upstairs and had a little nap. Again fell asleep at the end of it. I didn’t realize I was sleeping until I noticed the alarm going off midway through the song. As usual (and expected), I didn’t really feel rested after

Nap 5: 10:00 PM

Couldn’t get to sleep at all and got up feeling groggy. Been tired ever since and was nodding off just sitting around! Sigh. I’m already feeling the effects and all I’ve had is a bad night sleep and 20 hours awake…
