I read a good review of a new rhythm-based mmo named Audition and wanted to check it out. Unfortunately, to sign up, they require a wide range of personal information - the kind of thing the would be stealing your bank accounts/identity with. They want your SSN, your date of birth, full legal name, mothers maiden name. Lol. Naturally I didn’t give them anything valid, but after hitting SSNs already taken with my made up numbers I gave up.
None of this is necessary for a game; all of it is necessary to steal your identity. Can this possibly be legit? I’d like to think rockpapershotgun isn’t going to review an obvious scam, but it certainly appears that way.
Unfortunate really — I’m a huge DDR fan, so a rhythm mmo would be right up my alley.
