Was second life not enough warning? Who DIDN’T see this coming?

With the release of the Spore creature editor (and the ability to upload your creature!), there is a wide range of obscene creatures available now that would presumably get downloaded into your game as potential other races as you play. You can find more than you ever wanted to see with a simple youtube search or going to the spore site, but rockpapershotgun has a pretty good post showing some hilarious and inappropriate spore creatures. As stated, the link is not safe for work, so if you like your job, observe the horrors in the comfort of your own home.

This is so prevalent it is now called Sporn. I had a good laugh at that and expect to see a lot more when the game actually hits. RPS brings up a really good point though — spore is supposed to be a family game; what efforts are they going to take to keep the smut from showing up in people’s games who aren’t going to appreciate it?
