Procedural World – Loading and Rendering

The joust game (still no name yet – working on that!) has come a long way in the last two days. I used the tool in my previous post to select 2 world layouts I wanted, then joined them together to form one solid map of the world ground level. I then rigged the program [...]

C&C Red Alert 3

Well, the gameplay videos I’ve seen don’t look that great. I’m excited by the water battles and the conversions between land and sea (seems all the new RTS are doing that), but they don’t even come close to the Starcraft 2 vids.

But, I’ll probably buy it anyway, JUST because it has George Takei saying ‘All your base are belong to us‘. Yeah, I’m that guy.

Joust – It Begins

As I mentioned in my last post, which was incidentally also my first post, we are just starting up a big project based on the old school arcade game joust. We are taking the rider-on-flying-mount and the insta-kill dynamics and expanding upon them to create a large, multiplayer, persistent world. It is a big project [...]

TF2 – Scout Video (25 Kill Streak)

Last night I was playing Team Fortress 2 with Fraps on and got some footage of a 25 kill streak as scout. This set a personal record for scout, and I thought it was pretty fun, so I edited it up, set it to music, and stuck it on youtube.

The song is Mortal Kombonk (the mortal kombat theme using the scout sounds) by Death Cube K, edited by me to make it longer. The whole vid is 5 minutes long, with the boring parts run at 4x or even 8x so you get the highlights while still showing it is all one life.

Here is the embedded version, but I really recommend clicking on it and going to the actual youtube site, hitting the ‘watch in high quality’ link near the number of views, and watching it full screen.
