An update

Look a new post! I’ve been settled in salt lake for some time now, although I still haven’t unpacked or organized all my stuff yet… We’ve had the internet, but I haven’t quite known what to post. The inspiration-less streak hasn’t ended, I just figured it was time to put SOMETHING down.

I hope everyone had a happy christmas. I got some great stuff this year, the best being the offer from my parents to buy me an iphone. I’ll be picking that up sometime this week. I’ve been churning ideas around for some simple games to make for it so I can justify the $100/month phone bill. I hit up the ludumdare IRC channel and recruited a friend who knows C to port my eventual prototypes over to iphone compatible code. We haven’t worked together before but I’ve been wanting to so hopefully everything goes well.

I have nothing much to report really – snow is crazy and it’s cold as hell here.

The elusive intarweb

Hello!

I’ve been without internet for so long! I’m getting settled into my new place but I still won’t have the net until the 16th so I’m mooching internet at my parent’s house for now.

The new house is a huge downgrade from my dallas house. It’s older, smaller, and just not as nice. We spent about an hour today washing the smoke off of one tiny wall… ewwww. My room has no heat, so it is constantly at a balmy 60 degrees F (brrrrrr!). Lots of things like that…

Still, it isn’t all bad. I wouldn’t ever want to do major things to my house, but in the new one I’m already planning to add a wall to create a bedroom and to extend my room by about 6 feet. We are also going to tear up the back yard and build a sand volleyball court then pour concrete and put in a hot tub. With the people I know here (since I grew up here), I have contacts for all this stuff – my uncle is a carpenter and master electrician, my cousin worked for a landscaping guy who can get us sand for the volleyball court cheap and will let us use a truck and bobcat for free.

That’s it for now. Until the 16th!
