1234567890 Day!

Turns out later today is going to be 1234567890 on the unix timestamp. Quick lesson: unix systems keep track of the seconds since the epoch, which was January 1, 1970. Today we are going to hit 1234567890 — so cool!

Here is a countdown!

Mo’ Progress

9 Hours and 45 Minutes left. I just finished the music and got it working in game, making this my first LD entry with sound of any kind. The song is crap, but hey, I’m still proud of it. I did it all on my guitar (even the ‘drum’ parts) using audacity. The three phases are in, although there is no AI and the cannons don’t actually fire. The turns are still set on very short for debugging, but it does cycle all the way through. There are still some bugs to fix, and the AI to create. If I finish all that, I’ll put in sound effects.

Bee Stuffs!

I know I just posted but I’m pretty excited about the bee stuff I just got working. You can now do just about everything planned for the bees (except attack): you can highlight the swarms, move them, join them, and split them. I’m still not satisfied with my bee particles, but the merging and splitting is pretty great.

Day 7

Polyphasic – Uberman Day 7

Last night I tried an ‘experiment’. I wanted to sleep by the girlfriend during the night, so I tried hanging out in the bed with her, doing my usual 30 minute naps, just more frequently. I ended up sleeping a lot more than I planned, napping almost the entire time between 12 and 2:30. I was up from 2:30 to about 4:30, then I napped again pretty solidly until 6:30, at which point I got up as usual. Naturally, I got way more sleep and probably destroyed my schedule, but I feel pretty good (duh). I ended up missing my 10 AM nap because I didn’t notice until 10:45, but I took it then anyway. Overall, I’m voting no on the experiment. Laying down, at least at this point, is just too tempting, making it essentially the everyman schedule or worse.

The real info will come tonight to see what ramifications, if any, my long sleeping this morning have.
